Hythe Kent, in the District of Shepway, is one of the five original Cinque Ports on the "Garden Coast" in South Kent. A wide promenade overlooks a long stretch of beach, and over the English Channel to France.

Paddock House situated in Prospect Road is a short stroll from the main High Street, and the Royal Military canal.

Hythe is a pleasing jumble of little streets, containing many interesting historic buildings. It has a quant shopping area with lots of restaurants and bars and is renowned for its friendly residents, its history dates back many centuries.

There are various churches and half way up the hill stands the dominating figure of the 11th century Parish Church, with its famous crypt and ossuary.

There are numerous activities available in Hythe and the surroundings towns which include golf, tennis, riding, bowls, squash, boating, wind-surfing, fresh-water and sea angling, there is a heated indoor pool.

The Royal Military Canal's banks provide many delightful walks, as does the varied local countryside, it even boosts the worlds smallest Public Railway.
